Why your twenties feel harder than anyone admits

By

Your twenties are weird. On paper, they should be exciting, a time to explore, and gain independence. But some days, you see people you know posting on Instagram about buying a house, getting engaged, having children, and you just feel so behind. You question if you’re doing the right things and if you’ll ever be able to achieve what others have done. I find myself asking, What am I doing with my life? Will I regret the choices I’m making? Can I stop comparing myself with others? The constant scroll of curated lives online makes it hard not to feel inadequate, even though everyone’s journey is different. There’s this pressure from social media and from our own younger selves to be doing it right. To have achieved milestones that once felt essential, like owning a home, being settled, or having everything perfectly planned out.

That’s exactly why I started this blog. Life in your twenties is full of transitions – jobs that make you question yourself, friendships that unexpectedly change, money worries, and the constant pressure to have it all together. And honestly? Most of us don’t.

There have been days when I’ve felt behind, anxious, or unsure. Days when I wondered if I was making the right decisions. And then there are the moments where I remember that it’s okay to not have it all figured out – despite knowing that my younger self would’ve wanted me to be a homeowner by now – we’re learning as we go and there’s value in that.
